How long is the dovetail registration valid?
It is valid for one year. We hope you will stay in touch with us during the course of the year to let us know how you are getting on, but we will contact you towards the end of your registration period to see how things have developed for you.

How much does it cost to register for dovetail?
It costs £35 to register; £25 for re-registration.

Does all the information I give to you appear on the website?
Almost all of the information does, except we do not show your reference or the details of your referee and we ask which contact details you would like us to use. If you would like to give Claybury additional information to hold on file then you should do that by contacting us at dovetail@claybury.com .

Why do I need to give details of a referee?
People come to us from a wide variety of backgrounds and we want to ensure that those seeking a role in leadership within the local church have the skills appropriate to the task and do so with the support of their church leaders. The reference is for Claybury’s purposes only and is not passed on to churches. You can view the reference form on-line.

I am in church leadership. Who can I give as a referee?
If you are currently in church leadership, and wish your application to remain confidential, we are happy to take the name of a friend or colleague who has known you in ministry.

I am new to church leadership and unsure how to proceed. Can you help?
There are some guidelines available on the dovetail part of the site which will help you think through some of the issues, but if you want to talk to someone please phone or email us at dovetail@claybury.com .

Do I need to fill in all the fields?
We would encourage you to think about what you want to say (see the ‘guidelines for individuals’ paper) and then give as much information as possible. This your ‘shop window’ and will lay the foundations for future discussions. If there are certain questions which simply do not apply you can simply n/a (not applicable).

Can I edit the information held on the website?
You can access the information while it is in draft form, but once it has been agreed with the Claybury office and appears on the website you can only make changes by contacting the office at dovetail@claybury.com

I have friends who are also looking for leadership positions in the church. Can I pass information on to them?
We would ask you to respect the confidentiality of this site and not give access to others who are not part of the programme, or copy church details for individuals not registered with dovetail.

What happens next?
Once your registration is complete and your details appear on our website you can then make contact with churches as they register with us. More churches will come on during the course of the year, and you will need to check the website at regular intervals. We’d also like you to keep us informed of your progress as we feel part of our role is to be supportive and prayerful as people work their way through the process.
